The Chicago-based artist reportedly remains in custody as of Tuesday, August 25th, at a local detention facility. The alleged victim, identified as Pamalla Rodriguez on Instagram under the handle @rodrigueztwinz, took to social media to share her experience and the extent of her injuries. In a series of graphic images posted to her account, Rodriguez displayed significant bruising around her eye, a bloodied eye socket, and a bruised lip. To corroborate her claims, she also shared a photograph of a legal document indicating a charge of "Battery/Domestic Violence," directly linking the alleged assault to Famous Dex. In an effort to secure financial assistance for her medical treatment and legal proceedings, Rodriguez has also launched a GoFundMe campaign, sharing a link to the fundraising page for those wishing to contribute.
In a poignant statement accompanying the images, Rodriguez expressed her initial hesitation to speak out but her growing resolve to share "MY experience and MY truth." She articulated a desire for justice while simultaneously hoping her story will serve as a cautionary tale for other women. "I want justice, but I also want my story to be a warning to other women," she wrote.
Rodriguez detailed a harrowing account of the alleged abuse, which she claims began on Friday. She stated that she was initially choked, followed by her phone being thrown at her arm. The assault escalated, with her reporting being struck in the head and then punched in the eye. She described the punch as severe enough to cause a laceration from his finger, resulting in the injuries to her eye, lip, neck, face, and body that necessitated medical attention. Following the alleged physical altercation, Rodriguez claims that Famous Dex attempted to coerce her into fabricating a story, suggesting she claim she was "jumped" by others. She emphatically refused to lie or protect the individual responsible for her injuries.
Her message powerfully underscored the principle that an individual’s status, wealth, or influence should not grant them impunity from accountability for abusive behavior. "Women should not have to stay silent because someone has fame, money, followers or power," she asserted. "Abuse is abuse. No woman deserves to be hit, choked, intimidated, lied to, or afraid for her life."
