T-Pain, whose legal name is Faheem Rasheed Najm, alleges that his attempts to resolve this financial discrepancy amicably have been met with unresponsiveness. The lawsuit outlines a series of unsuccessful efforts to secure the owed royalties, culminating in his decision to pursue legal action. The filing indicates that on June 2, 2026, T-Pain was directed to engage with BuVision, an independent label managed by Abou "Bu" Thiam, Akon’s younger brother, for the collection of the outstanding balance. Despite attempting to contact BuVision on June 12, 2026, T-Pain claims he received no satisfactory resolution, leaving him with no recourse but to file suit against Konvict Entertainment.
